Beyond Skrillex’s Bangarang

The release of this EP in 2011 was a major turning point for the electronic dance music (EDM) scene. The main single “Bangarang” featuring Sirah, was released on December 23rd 2011 and quickly gained traction as one of Skrillex’s signature works. Just four days later, the full EP with the same name dropped and it included several other notable collaborations as well as solo productions by Skrillex himself.

The success of this release propelled both Skrillex’s career and popularity to new heights in 2012 — a year that saw him win three Grammy Awards for Best Dance/Electronica Album (for Bangarang), Best Dance Recording (“Bangarang”), and Best Remixed Recording (“Promises”). It also made waves across social media platforms such as YouTube where it has amassed over 300 million views since its release date; making it one of his most popular tracks to date!

Skrillex’s production techniques on “Bangarang” showcased an innovative approach to sound design that pushed the boundaries of what was possible within electronic music at the time. He blended aggressive bass drops, intricate synth patterns, and dynamic arrangements to create a unique sonic experience. This groundbreaking track quickly made its way into various forms of media such as movies, commercials, and sports events which further solidified Skrillex’s influence on contemporary music culture.
